I have a friend in the US who is dealing with some Canadian companies that only want to deal with a Canadian dollar account drawn on a Canadian bank. He's wondering if anyone knows of a bank that will let him open an account up here without physically being present, by faxing a passport or something for proof of identity.
I might be going to Boston to visit friends over Easter. I was assuming bus would be the cheapest option, but I don't know which sites to go to or how to get the best deals? Anyone have experiences (good/bad, cheap/expensive, fast/slow)?
Hello, I'm an American expat and I was wondering if anyone knows of a bar in Montreal that will/might be carrying the State of the Union address by Barack Obama on its tv/s, or if you know of a SOTU watch party anywhere. Looks like it's a long shot but thought I'd still ask. Thanks!

People, what is the best place/agency etc to buy a package tour to NY for a a few days next week? All suggestions, leads and personal experiences will be appreciated.
I understand it's 11 hours long, but it's also $80 USD return, cheaper than a bus and trains tend to be more comfortable (if only slightly) than a bus, and tend to have booze on board.
I'm hoping to find a ride to Boston for U.S. Thanksgiving (weekend of Nov. 25) Ideally, leaving Thursday late morning, returning Sunday. Anybody headed that way? I'd pitch in for gas and provide snacks. Really, really good snacks.
I've also posted on McGill classifieds, but thought I might as well cast out feelers here, too.
I wanted to plan a trip to New York with a few friends in the upcoming months. Does anyone have any good experiences in taking any sort of bus trips from Montreal to New York? Do you have any recommendations for agencies that do this sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated.
